Nevada Recap
As most of you may know I go to BYU. If you go to BYU or have gone you definitely know that we’re one of the very few schools that don’t have spring break!!! I KNOW!! But recently they’ve decided to give us a “Spring Day.” So that means we get a Friday in March off. I don’t even have Friday classes lol so I get it off either way! Kinda sad at how long this is taking for me to finally write up haha. But my best friends and I took advantage of Spring Day and headed to Nevada. We left Thursday night, because we’re pretty close we drove. It was a very bumpy road! My drivers side windshield wiper BROKE! Just as it started to HAIL! It hailed, rained, and snowed during this 6 hour road trip. When we finally hit Beaver, Utah it was clear roads from there... until I hit black ice and the car spun out of control and flew into a ditch! NO JOKE! It was the scariest experience of my life but no one seemed to panic or scream. We all were in so much shock! I’ve never hit black ice or been stuck in snow so I had no idea how to get out. God bless that my car is always in 4 wheel drive and a state trooper came and got us out. We were only stuck for about 40 mins!!!!! No damage at all to my car! So after getting out of the ditch it was a smooth ride. We got to the Airbnb safely and it was all good. We went to Valley of Fire State Park. We didn’t want the trip to be just the Vegas Strip. That’s no fun especially since we’re Mormon minors LOL. The Park was amazing! It’s a 13 mile drive and you get to see some really cool rocks and hikes. We stopped at the Beehives, White Sand Rocks, and Elephant Rock! Seriously so much fun. We hiked, got a ton of pics, and just made some endless memories. I definitely pushed myself more than I have ever been pushed to do some of the stuff. Once you exit Valley of Fire you get to Lake Mead. There was no one at the gate 🤷🏾♀️ so we went in for free. Lake Mead is a National Park and you need a parks pass which none of us had 😅. It was so beautiful. The water was freezing but it was worth it, also the water didn’t taste so bad (yes I know I’m weird for tasting it). After lake mead we cleaned up in a gas station bathroom...ratchet I know. After that we headed to Seven Magic Mountains which I’ve been wanting to see for a very long time! It was so windy but so much fun. Definitely recommend if you’re in Nevada or passing through. It’s also completely FREE! Later that night we went to the Strip and watched the Bellagio fountain show. I’ve been to Vegas several times before so the strip is whatever to me. But what I was really excited for was Hash House! I got their famous Chicken and Waffles. It was so good but also a ton of food. So I had it for breakfast the next day. Saturday was very chill and laid back. We went shopping at the Outlets, ate at Raising Canes (definitely a must!), we even shopped at Goodwill lol. After all of that we got ice cream at Sweet Addictions in Henderson. Which I absolutely am obsessed with now and will eventually be back for more!!! Sunday we were told there were going to be a bunch of storms back to Utah so we booked it early...not even any drizzling. Literally perfect weather 🙃. So we made stops to the Las Vegas sign, Arizona state sign, Utah state sign and the St.George temple. We were expected to be home by 4:30 but because of our stops and pictures we got home at 10:30! Overall it was seriously such an amazing Spring Break and I’m happy I got to spend it with my best friends in a beautiful state! If you’re going to Nevada soon and are looking for fun things to do that are also cheap I def recommend some of the things we did!
