Seattle Recap

Every Spring Break/Day since I’ve been in Utah my friends and I have tried to do something fun and different. Last year was Vegas. This year my friend Carter and I decided to switch it up and go to Seattle, Washington!

If you know me, you know I’m a major major Grey’s Anatomy fan! I’m a Shonda Rhimes fan in general and a lot of her shows are based in Seattle such as Grey's and Station 19. If you haven’t seen either show do yourself a favor and get Netflix and binge it! BINGE IT NOW!

But I truly fell in love with Seattle, Washington. Washington overall is absolutely beautiful! The people are great, the scenery, the cuisine, and there’s just so much to see and do. A lot of people told me that I was visiting at the wrong time of year since Seattle is infamous for rainy weather. But the weather was perfect the entire time we were there. It didn’t rain at all. I like to think that I brought the sunshine with me. 💁🏾‍♀️

As soon as we landed, we got in an Uber and headed straight to the Ferry so that we could get to our first Airbnb which just so happened to be a Yurt on Bainbridge Island! Although I used to live in New York I had never been on a ferry and the closest thing to a ferry in Florida is the little boat that gets you to Peanut Island in Rivera Beach. This was super cool to experience. It literally felt like a scene out of Grey’s because we all know McDreamy loved his ferry rides.

But it was a 30-minute ride and we took a bus to our Yurt. The Yurt was cool. The owner had live roosters that would wake us up, the water was pumped straight from the ground, and it was just green all over. It was truly an experience. I’ll have the listing linked here.

The island was absolutely beautiful. So many beautiful water front restaurants. The food was great, and the local shops and boutiques had the coolest things.

The main land is very different form the islands but still just as wonderful. We had dinner at a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. That was so interesting. But they had the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Like wow! I also checked out the Seattle Pike Target. Now I love Target, but this location blew me away! It was two stories and had a little personal escalator for your shopping cart to get up and down the floors. I hate heights but we couldn't leave without going on the ferris wheel! The views from up high were phenomenal!

Another must I would have to say is visit the Gum Wall! Some people don't like it but I thought it was super cool! I couldn't leave Seattle without putting my gum on the wall. I literally chewed all day to make sure it was perfect lol. Getting my gum out my mouth did get a tad bit stressful haha.

If you’re going to go to Washington def check out one of the beautiful gardens. We went to the Bellevue Botanical Garden. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Had bridges, little sitting areas, ponds and so much more. And it is free!

Washington has so many museums also we visited the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and the Museum of Pop Culture. The Bainbridge museum is free, and the Museum of Pop Culture does have a cost. Both museums were really cool and taught a lot. Both had things where you could interact and play with what was on display like video games, guitars, and music keys.

On the main land we def checked out a bunch of restaurants and dessert places. I will have every place we ate at and went for as an attraction listed down below.

Where we ate:

Bruciato - Bainbridge

Shake Shack

Dicks

Top Pot Doughnuts

Chicken Valley

Salt and Straw

Docs Marina Grill

Pikes Pit Bar-B-Que

Cactus Mexican Restaurant

Pike Place Chinese Cuisine

Attractions we saw:

Bainbridge Island

Seattle Great Wheel

The Needle

Pike Place Market

Seattle Pike Target

Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

Bellevue Botanical Garden

Bainbridge Island

Museum of Pop Culture

The Gum Wall

I truly am in love with this city and state! I’m already planning my next trip back. I do want to go back during the tulip festival. Washington is such a beautiful place rich in art and diversity. And the trip was very affordable. I’m going to make it back at least once a year from now on!
